Planning Manager

RO Land is a strategic land promotion business, founded in 2020, which promotes sites suitable for residential, commercial and energy uses in the northern home counties, Cambridge to Oxford arc and South Midlands. RO Land is part of the RO Group, a long-standing, entrepreneurial property company with offices in Potters Bar and London.
 

The business has expanded rapidly since it was founded and we are now looking for an ambitious, driven and organised individual to help us take it to the next stage of growth. This is a hybrid role based in Potters Bar.
 

You will be tasked with identification, assessment and promotion of residential and commercial sites as well as providing advice to support decision making in other areas of the business. The focus of the role will be on project management of promotion contracts, planning applications and appeals.

About you​

​

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, has excellent communication and organisational skills, enjoys the varied and entrepreneurial nature of the business and has previous planning and property experience with a focus on the strategic land process. You may be a Senior Planner looking to take the next step in your career or an associate that will bring varied experience to the role. You will also be able to:

​

  • Identify and appraise new residential and commercial development opportunities

  • Establish and review planning strategies to ensure that existing sites are effectively promoted

  • Discuss development proposals with local authorities and other statutory bodies through pre-application routes

  • Engage with other stakeholders and take part in public engagement exercises

  • Instruct and manage teams of external consultants and monitor budgets accordingly

  • Project manage planning applications and appeals

  • Communicate effectively with landowners and agents

 


This role will involve some travel, so a clean driving license is essential.

Required Qualifications​

​

  • Chartered MRTPI, MRICS or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years planning experience
